This is a question which has been asked around millions of times since the ancient Greek. Quite a few people have pondered over this question for ages with no one solution to it. This video here tries to explain us the origins of egg and the hen using dogs and wolves for example. AsapSCIENCE has made a small video to demonstrate it.
The formation of an egg is only possible if a protein called ovocledidin-17 (OC-17) is present in the chicken’s ovaries. Research has shown that OC-17 is a catalyst necessary for shell development. In other words the chicken definitely came first because OC-17 exists only in chicken’s ovaries.
