Sony Xperia Z - Sony's flagship smartphone for 2013 with a 5-inch, 1080p HD display and Water Resistant - Magzium

At CES 2013 Sony has announced the Xperia Z its new flagship smartphone for 2013. The device features a 5 inch, 1080p HD display with a high pixel density and refined design. The Xperia Z is IP55 and IP57 dust and water resistant and weigh 140 grams but it is only 7.9 mm thin. The phone runs on Android 4.1 out of the box and will be updated 4.2 sometime after the release of the phone.
The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. IT comes with 16GB of internal storage with a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion. The Sony Xperia Z sports a 13-megapixel camera with an “all-new” sensor and is the first smartphone to introduce Video HDR (High Dynamic Range). HDR in images basically combines 3 images taken at different exposures into a single image which has best detailed parts of each oh the image and Sony is introducing this feature in videos as well. The Xperia Z also allows to click pictures while recording videos. The front of the smartphone also get’s a 2.2 megapixel camera.
The phone has many other features like ClearAudio+, Bravia Reality Display and the Bravia Engine 2 to enhance the multimedia capabilities of the phone. The phone is equipped with a 2,330 mAh battery and comes with a feature, which kills all the background processes when the screen is turned off to save the battery and thus offers upto 4 times greater battery life.
